Thinking of making a trip outside Prague? Many Czechs consider Český Krumlov in southern Bohemia the most picturesque town in the country. Its well-preserved medieval city centre makes Český Krumlov a major UNESCO World Heritage site. You may look forward to beautiful views of the surrounding forests and historical monuments, including the local baroque castle built on top of a hill, one of the highlights of Český Krumlov.
Take advantage of being on fresh air and visit the theatre with a revolving auditorium, where you can watch many different performances in a beautiful natural environment. In summer, Český Krumlov is the place to be for watersports lovers. Why not rent a canoe and paddle your way down the mighty Vltava River, passing beautiful historical houses along the way?
For lunch, we will have a delicious traditional meal in our favourite local restaurant DEPO. Once you have your bellies full, you may choose your own programme: visit the local Egon Schiele’s Gallery, monastic complex or rent a canoe. We cannot recommend one particular activity because all of them are really great options.
To spice up this nice afternoon, don’t miss your chance to try the traditional Czech apple pie called “štrůdl” at the popular Café Štrůdl. We believe it will be the icing on the cake of your day trip to Český Krumlov.
